Beto was correct that Republicans don't want to do anything about gun violence and Abbott lied about the police response. Try to keep up.

He couldn't attack the message so he attacked the messenger. That's a typical tactic Repubs use. Generating outrage against the messenger so as not to have to address the message. Deflection 101.

Speaking of GOP lies concerning guns, particularly the shopworn GOP/NRA trope "The Only Thing That Stops A Bad Guy With A Gun Is A Good Guy With A Gun":

UVALDE, Texas (AP) — Nearly 400 law enforcement officials rushed to a mass shooting that left 21 people dead at a Uvalde elementary school, but “systemic failures” created a chaotic scene that lasted more than an hour before the gunman was finally confronted and killed, according to a report from investigators released Sunday.

So, 400 trained good guys with guns couldn't stop one 18-year old untrained bad guy with a gun. No wonder they continue to lie.

That Trump/Fox spew you've been gorging on for so long has finally turned your brains to mush, Mike.

Congrats.

Trust this isn't a repeat, but worth rehashing if it is.
“Systemic failures” in Uvalde shooting went far beyond local police, Texas House report details" here:

The article you posted doesn't state that Abbott lied, but that he may have been lied to.

And didn't Congress just pass bi-partisan legislation on gun control, which undercuts your comment above about "don't want to do anything about gun control?

We have a system that ensures that all and sundry folk may readily acquire any available firearm of any available type in any quantity without evidence of responsibility or trustworthiness, and made it extremely difficult to remove them permanently for those who pose/ prove a threat with their custodianship.
All because some see these measures an an "infringement" on their unenumerated right to armed insurrection under an unenumerated interpretation of the second amendment. There are those who are carrying it to "gunning up" for the coming revolution.
These measures do little to address this basic core issue.

More guns means more gun violence. The only solution is less guns.

Could it really be that simple?
Sure, it can be that simple.....just ask New Zealand, England, Japan or Australia.
