Little by little the night turns around.
Counting the leaves which tremble at dawn.
Lotuses lean on each other in yearning.
Under the eaves the swallow is resting.
Set the controls for the heart of the sun.

Over the mountain watching the watcher.
Breaking the darkness
Waking the grapevine.
One inch of love is one inch of shadow
Love is the shadow that ripens the wine.
Set the controls for the heart of the sun.
The heart of the sun, the heart of the sun.

Witness the man who raves at the wall
Making the shape of his questions to Heaven.
Whether the sun will fall in the evening
Will he remember the lesson of giving?
Set the controls for the heart of the sun.
The heart of the sun, the heart of the sun.

Not being a man of letters, although I appreciate the poetry you have posted tonight, I don't recognize the works. Care to add to the literary education of we simple folk who frequent these pages. Who are the poets?

Regards,

D-Ray

The overweening conceit of the American businessman never ceases to amaze. "I built this company and not the greedy workers so I am re-locating it to China." (Except that he is not re-locating himself there.)

Right, now let's look at the facts.

He was fortunate enough to live in a country with good structure and have a job that allowed him enough free time to devlop his idea. He was also fortunate enough to have access to a banking system that loaned him the startup money. He was also fortunate to live in a country with an educated workforce such that he was able to find employees to help him build his idea. That same workforce built his idea so well that his company gained both in reputation and stature.

So where did the bank get the startup money they loaned him? Was it not simply the combined savings of many middle class Americans? Where did that educated workforce come from? Was it not from the schools and universities that thousands of taxpayers funded?

This does not even begin to touch the surface; what about the infrastructure, the roads, bridges, power systems, etc.

All by himself? I don't think so.

Ah yes, John Donne;

"No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;
if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe
is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as
well as a manor of thy friends or of thine
own were; any man's death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom
the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

Yep.. The facts are that he did the math and decided that he either needed to manufacturer some products in China or go bankrupt when OTHERS did it first. OR -- he could of invested in INCREASE AUTOMATION which would have lowered his labor costs and still shed jobs..

Business has no obligation to commit suicide for the public good. I resent that trend as much as you do. My clients are just now suffering for that decision to export jobs. It's short-sighted because NOW -- the Chinese don't even need THEM!!

The only way to be patriotic and STAY would be to give up the BULK of your market and specialized in only quality, hi-end versions..

The rest of your attempt to indict is a rant unless you recognize exactly what choice was made.
