Boehner resigns

A shame. He was a reasonable conservative (Hence the right wing anger and hate that spews against him on forums. i.e He's a drunk etc).

There's no talking to a section of the right. They're lost. The GOP is not likely to win another election. They're demographically doomed and while they keep up the vitriol and crazy demands (Like defunding planned parenthood) they are unelectable (Which is good).
