Oh I agree. I am just making a point that the GOP has sort of waged war on their own with the sequester. We used to be up in your neck of the woods, until BRAC.

I used to eat at the Thai restaurant on Webster Ave, and go to some of the bars there. I love that part of California.
I lived in Vallejo off of Sacramento Ave.

Working Out And Looking Buff AND an EBT Card? Welfare Fraud!
Another fine Republican sleuth using his powers of deduction and observation:

Perhaps they were texting on their smart phones and Ipads......the sight of a welfare recipient with an Ipad really pisses off some people for some reason.

I do believe many young service men and their families sign up for food stamps as they can't make it on a soldiers pay. I'd bet they'd be in pretty good shape.

That was true up until about 10-15 years ago. I mean I am sure it still happens.
The sad fact is that I would imagine most junior enlisted people have it better than your average entry level minimum wage worker. The big difference is the housing (on base is rent free) and "free" health care make up for the low wages they get paid.
You would surprised at the BMWs I see at work being driven by Sailors and Marines. It is not because they get paid so much, but some of the single servicemen will squander their whole income on a huge car note, and have no money left over.

Parking lot at work is much the same. Again, it's the perception thing

Actually, Robbin many young folks are joining the military these days because they see no future in a private sector that no longer provides the valuable benefits military service does; Fulltime work, medical benefits, educational benefits and a decent pension.
And, it's getting worse by the day.

That is very true...I would rather be an E-1 working in the Navy than working at Walmart. Even if you have a good hourly wage, if you do not have adequate health care you are basically walking a tight rope. At least a guy or girl cleaning bilges in the engine room will be taken care of if they get sick...and their families too.
