Imprisonment for Debt Returns to Buckeye State

http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013...d-in-ohio?lite

maybe you are on to something Pete

btw Pete I did notice the almost over the top presence of the state police on many of the rural routes in Ohio when I was there last...they hide under bridges and around curves. In Cali they stick to the highways

I bet you can imagine my surprise

Strange but I've never been hassled by the state boys. Cops have been out like crazy lately though, it's a wonder how many there actually are.

Pete

When I went back to Ohio in 2010 a car flashed their lights at me before I went through an underpass and around a curb...and smokey was there waiting for me with his radar gun... a friendly warning from another civilian

the only other place where cars do that is on military bases with lots of bored military police

I went back to ohio
but my city was gone
there was no train station
there was no downtown
south howard had disappeared
all my favorite places
my city had been pulled down
reduced to parking spaces
a, o, way to go ohio

well i went back to ohio
but my family was gone
i stood on the back porch
there was nobody home
i was stunned and amazed
my childhood memories
slowly swirled past
like the wind through the trees
a, o, oh way to go ohio

i went back to ohio
but my pretty countryside
had been paved down the middle
by a government that had no pride
the farms of ohio
had been replaced by shopping malls
and muzak filled the air
from seneca to cuyahoga falls
said, a, o, oh way to go ohio

What's really sad is that this awesome Pretenders song is Rush Limbaugh's intro music.

They're not charging him enough money.

She was upset about it when she found out but Chrissie let him continue...because her parents were fans of his show and Limbaugh pays PETA some money in return for Hynde letting him use the song.

I saw the Pretenders in 2009 and she is my favorite female vocalist and like Roy Orbison she can still hit every single note.

I am proud she is from Ohio

Last year I drove around the countryside west of Dallas. It was ghost town after ghost town.
