Here is summat for the religious right;

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and angels, and have not charity I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. Though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing"

From Paul's letters to the christians in Corinth although some scholars have said 'charity' was a mis-translation and the word should have been 'love'. Regardless the meaning is still there.

"They that are whole need not a physician, but they that are sick."

I think it was me who posted the Ford and GE jobs in Louisville in another post. After double checking my memory. Ford does start out at 15.51 and GE is 13.03. But ATT is 10.79 an hour. Sorry for the mistake on the amounts was going from a bad memory and no coffee yesterday morning. Still much lower then the starting salaries were just three years ago. Most people I know who lost jobs in the last few years have settled for significantly less in pay and benefits when finding new employment.

Be that the employee will now have higher healthcare costs and need to invest a larger amounts into their retirement fund then in years past I don't see an increase in pay overall.

ATT has had multiple tech positions open in various locations in Alaska for well over a year, can't find decent techs. Teamsters union job, pays $34.xx per hour. Come on up. We've got one of the highest levels of disposable income in the country.

Surprised no one has busted them yet. $34 an hour is just plain ridiculous. Somebody needs to stop that before it spreads. Maybe after Wisconsin throws Walker out, he can come fix that for ya?...............

ATT is surplusing or retiring CO and field techs as fast as they can. If the jobs are for PREM techs I can understand why no one wants the jobs.

I don't buy that they can't find qualified techs. I know of several VHO managers looking to move back into the field anywhere there is a job. They have had their paperwork in for over a year. I will see one of them today. I will pass the good news along to him.

They probably are in Alaska. Who in the hell actually wants to live there, besides Wasillaguy and the Palins?

I don't know, maybe ask one of the other 650,000 residents.
Clean air, wide open spaces, gorgeous scenery, abundant wildlife, country living, good paying jobs, economy that doesn't crash, world class fishing and hunting, and we even have stores and malls if you like that sort of crap.

Besides that, I'm not sure why anyone would want to live here.

Chas, I don't think it is so much wishing poverty on others but rather, feeling superior to those who live in poverty.
