This is pathetic, Santos is trying to sound like Trump.

Quote:
Appearing before a judge and scores of assembled reporters in a federal courthouse in Central Islip, Mr. Santos pleaded not guilty on all charges. Sitting upright, with his arms crossed before him, Mr. Santos, 34, was polite and deferential, cutting a familiar figure in his trademark outfit of sweater beneath a navy blazer.

But outside, before a scrum of news media and observers that included some holding one-word “Lies” signs, his tone changed. “The reality is, this is a witch hunt!” he announced from behind Ray Ban sunglasses.
What an arrogant bastard. The local Republican party has disavowed him, he does not even go to his local office and now its a witch hunt? Someone should tell him the prosecutors read NYT.

Quote:
Mr. Santos was released on $500,000 bond that was secured by three people, whose identities were not made public. His travel will be restricted to New York, Washington and places in between, with advance permission required for other trips. His next court appearance is expected on June 30.
Wonder who they are to put up the $500K.

"Speaking to CNN congressional correspondent Manu Raju on Wednesday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said he will not support Rep. George Santos (R-NY) if he runs for re-election.

“No, I'm not going to support him," McCarthy told Raju. "Santos has a lot going on. I think he has other things to focus on in his life other than running for re-election.”

McCarthy has consistently stopped short of calling on Santos to resign. However, he told Raju that he would do so if the House Ethics Committee also concludes he broke the law."

After extensive searching, high and low Kevin remembered that he left his withered cojones in Marjorie's Prada clutch.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal @RepJayapal

Good. This is outrageous conduct by someone running and now serving as a Member of Congress.

But remember, without him, McCarthy couldn't have passed his Default on America Act. That is why McCarthy is standing by him. Shame on both of them.

Santos’ case in Brazil adds new pressure to Republican leaders
The good news for Republican Rep. George Santos is that his legal mess in Brazil has apparently been resolved. The bad news is he just confessed to theft.

I wonder why our resident MAGAMoron isn't defending this cretin, same as he incessantly does for his career criminal Orange Dear Leader?

This may have to do with a place for him to go soon. Get the mess cleaned up, not hanging over his head. Free to go home....

A Brooklyn federal grand jury on Tuesday returned an indictment against a top former fundraiser and vendor for Rep. George Santos (R-NY)’s campaign for impersonating a top House Republican staffer. Sam Miele faces four counts of wire fraud and one of identity theft, per the indictment.

10 new charges piled up on our favorite Crook in Congress. One of his staff members pleaded guilty and perhaps pointed to more crimes, even ripping off his own family.

Santos accused of stealing identities, unauthorized credit card use

Quote:
Santos, 35, faces 10 additional charges, according to the indictment: one count of conspiracy to commit offenses against the United States, two counts of wire fraud, two counts of making materially false statements to the Federal Election Commission, two counts of falsifying records submitted to obstruct the Federal Election Commission, two counts of aggravated identity theft, and one count of access device fraud.
Unfortunately justice is neither fair nor swift. So he will continue to vote in the House against our own best interests.

What, they don't have some other liar-cook-thief they can replace him with? The party is rife with 'em.
