I'm very glad to see this but I can't bring myself to think better of Chambliss as a result. His campaign against Max Cleland was one of the most reprehensible I've ever seen.

Indeed it was. Shameful.

I most heartily concur, Gentlemen. As shameful as Walsh's attacks on Duckworths military record. All designed to feed off of the "Democrats hate the military.", mentality, which viewed objectively.......also has no basis in reality.

Regards,
Dave

I still think we might be better off if we just went "over the cliff".

I agree, I heard an opinion that it would be a good political move to do just that . Let these Bush tax breaks die like they should've two years ago. The Dems could easily come back with a middle class tax break of the same amount ($3700) in January and woe be to any congress critter who votes against it. The rich should have to pay a higher ante to play. After all the casino was built by the middle class.

I also concur with this, based on one simple premise; "What cliff?"

Regards,
Dave

I think going over it would hurt Obama too soon post election and slow his momentum...not to mention putting us back into a recession. We need stimulus right now. Look for a deal. This may a sign it is going to happen.

Our credit rating may go down again.

Yep, credit rating would take a hit just like when the flea baggerz held up increasing the debt limit.
It sure is great to see somebody tell Norquist to go f**k himself. I saw that dipstick Norquist on TV saying it would be best to kick the can down the road at this point rather than increase any taxes. Unbelievable how anybody would associate themselves with that punk.
I suppose the farm bill isn't getting through either.

Carl
