Didn't say it did. Just sharing my opinion.

It's time for *everyone* to say enough. Really, Tea Party folk need to be calling on Palin to stop it with the gun sights and the "reload". Imagine a Muslim group printing T Shirts with the World Trade Center viewed from the cockpit of an airplane. "Hey, it's just a metaphor". Yeah.

I quite agree with you that Fox's operation of its broadcasting corporation and its fund-raising are culpable activities.

Culpable –adjective
deserving blame or censure; blameworthy.

PS WWJS? (what would Jefferson say? )
Not sure who or whether, but did he combine it with a call for arms or a need to "water the tree of liberty?"

Guys, this is so ridiculous.

What are folks supposed to think when they see footage of heavily armed people hanging out at Tea Party events? (And don't tell me "It never happened.", because the whole frigging world saw it.)

What are folks supposed to think when we see bumperstickers with an image of a gun on it and the words "By any means necessary!" on it, right next to a McCain/Palin sticker?

What are folks supposed to think when damn near every tough guy they know who has a safe, or two, or three full of guns and likes to brag about how he's not afriad to use them---is a Republican.

What are folks supposed to think when they see a prominent Tea Party personality, who has Presidential ambitions, putting crosshairs over her opponents districts and using phrases that refer to "taking them down" or "eliminating" them?

Look. I agree that, perhaps, no one directly told this crazy bastard to go kill anyone. He is a mental case, that is clear. But, to insist that there is no evidence of rightwing pundits and politicians aluding to, or making referrence to the use of guns for political gain is just so bizarre it's beyond words. That's like adamantly insisting you've never heard a Republican making mention of a tax cut.......... It's totally, completely, and utterly absurd no matter what angle you view it from.

(A scene from "The Deer Hunter" comes to mind; DeNiro holding up a bullet and saying, "You see this? This is this. It aint nuthin' else, it's this. And that's all it is." I love that movie.)

So, what do you suppose could happen when you have someone like Loughner is
watching t.v. and seeing someone like Sharron Angle referring to "...the second amendment option....", or viewing images of rightwing activists brandishing weapons---in the heart of the nations capital, and Sarah Palin encouraging more of this type of thing?

Nobody here is stupid, Fellas. Stop and think about it.

We have all wondered when this day would come. The day some nutcase or hothead took it all just a hair too seriously. You have and you know you have. If you try to tell me otherwise, I am going to think you're a liar.

With the wreckless rhetoric and the irresponsible speech being what it has the last few years, it hasn't been a matter of "if" but a matter of "when" and you all know it.

Spare me.

Dave

OK, as long as Obama's supporters ask him to tone down his rhetoric. I mean, if we really want to cool things down, let's hold everyone to the same standard. No more of these types of inciteful comments:

* “They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun”
* “Get in Their Faces!”
* “Hit Back Twice As Hard”
* “We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.”
* “Republican victory would mean “hand to hand combat”
* “It’s time to Fight for it.”
* “Punish your enemies.”
* “I’m itching for a fight.”

It was a tognue in cheek comment I somewhat regret, because he was talking real armed insurrection, not random assasinations by a fruitcake:

"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion.
The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is
wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts
they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions,
it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ...
And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not
warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of
resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as
to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost
in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from
time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It is its natural manure."

[Edit: yes indeed, Jefferson]
