Let's see, 2 of OU's starters are from Oklahoma, one from New York, one is from the Bahamas, and one of from Texas. The back-up center was born in the Sudan, and the back-up point guard is from Canada. Buncha rednecks.

The Big 12 has won one NCAA basketball championship. The ACC clocks in at 14, while the Big East has won 13.
I suppose if the ACC and the Big East quit playing hoops, the Big 12 might catch up in a century or so.

But that only counts if we're living in the past. If we're looking at this year, we might want to look at OU's beatdown of Villanova and what happened to UNC today.

Radford beat Georgetown in the season opener. Does that make the Big South better than the Big East? Let's wait until March to see who's really good. There's indeed an off-chance that some also-ran conference like the Big 12 may sneak in.

They just squeaked by the Giants. As much as I want Carolina to go undefeated (unless they lose to the Redskins in the playoffs ), I don't really think they're the best team in the NFC at the moment, with both Arizona and Seattle being more complete teams. That said, I very much like what Cam Newton is up to this year. Simply awesome.

Carolina vs. Arizona will be an excellent game if it occurs.
Both teams with superior running games, quarterbacks playing their best football, and outstanding offensive line play. I give the edge to Carolina on defense and to Arizona for Palmer, who has more playoff experience.
If Carolina doesn't win it all I'm rooting for Arizona.
Seahawks playing great ball, but their running game has taken a serious hit - if Lynch makes it back he won't be 100% and good teams know how to take advantage of a one dimensional offense.

Losing "Honey Badger" opens up a big hole in our secondary.

They will compensate. Both teams are peaking at the right time - more than that, both Carolina and Arizona appear to be having fun and enjoying themselves. Of course winning will do that, but throughout the year members of both teams seemed to genuinely get along and like playing together.
Sometimes that is the intangible that can carry you over the top.

And Russell Wilson may be hotter in the past 5 games than either Newton or Palmer, as hard as that is to imagine. In the past five games, he's completed 74.3 percent of his passes, averaged 9.59 yards per attempt and tossed 19 touchdowns without an interception. Not too shabby.
