This ought to be interesting...

Never thought they'd be able to tangle guns and marriage up.

I'm aware that this may/ should have arisen from a reciprocity decision on gay marriage. A decision on local control over firearms will no doubt be required for clarification. What is clear is, like the failed states in the Middle East, we presently have some of the best armed nut jobs in the world here, and this can only make things worse.

Yep.

What do you do when it's a state that chooses to violate the Constitutional rights of individuals?

The federal government at times must have the power to intercede and enforce the U.S. Constitution. Otherwise there is no point in even having a national constitution.

Hence the 14th Amendment.

I see his argument is valid as I read it. But then a reinterpretation and intent of the Second Amendment should also be up for argument.

Article IV Section 1 of the Constitution requires all states to recognize any legally solemnized marriage perfomed in any other state.

Yes, but what (I think) he fails to see is that following this logic and implementing it in every issue, "states rights" would become almost meaningless. No big deal to me but to a gun toting wingnut it should be. It places the entire gun control issue into the hands of the federal government.

Something a so-called "Conservative" is supposed to oppose.

Correct and thee 14th solidifies that and makes it enforceable.

Using the same “due process clause” argument as the Supreme Court just applied to gay marriage, my concealed carry permit must now be recognized as valid in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Cool!

I'm all for this.
