Hope you are right but it is still to early to know.

Fear any subsidy may be more a wishful hope. More then likely a Cadillac Plan type of tax will be in the details.

Between the Democrats and the Republicans, both of whom are tools of the ruling class, I'm confident they will find a way to screw me.

The model for UHC in Australia is simple, for a start the govt pays a doctor a flat fee to see a patient for a normal consultation. So for example if they used this in the U.S. it would work like this, Doctors A & B both charge $100.00 to see a patient, the govt would give a doctor $75.00 and the they could collect the rest from the patient. But Doctor A thinks why not just charge $75.00 and get all the patients, the govt automatically sends me the money because it's all computerized. Doctor B has less patients now, so he drops his price to $75.00. So they are doing what is called "bulk billing". Need to see an ENT, Cardiologist etc, your GP gives you a referral so the govt gives them a higher amount per patient.

People don't need insurance to see the doctor anymore, people go when they feel ill and don't wait till the last minute when it's too late. They have annual checkups, which is preventative medicine. Doctors see plenty of patients and have less accounting fees.

People pay a levy of a percentage of taxable income, so the more you earn the more you pay. And below an amount you don't pay at all.

A Paid Hour a Week for Sex? Swedish Town Considers It

By DAN BILEFSKY and CHRISTINA ANDERSONFEB. 23, 2017

A local official in Sweden has a novel proposal to improve work-life balance and lift the local birthrate: give municipal employees an hourlong paid break each week to go home and have sex.

Sweden is already celebrated for its generous welfare state, including 480 days of paid parental leave, universal health care and a common ritual of coffee and pastry, known as fika, which is considered sacrosanct.

Per-Erik Muskos, a 42-year-old councilman from the northern town of Overtornea, wants to add to those benefits, by offering the municipality’s 550 employees the right to subsidized sex. In introducing his proposal this week, he told fellow members of the town council that it would give a nudge to the dwindling local population, add spice to aging marriages and improve employee morale.

The idea quickly got attention all over Sweden, where for at least some, it was a welcome distraction from President Trump’s vague reference to problems the country was having with immigration, which were strongly denied by baffled Swedes.

Noting that “sex is also a great form of exercise and has documented positive effects on well-being,” Mr. Muskos suggested that local municipal employees could use an hour of the workweek already allotted for fitness activities to go home and have sex with their spouses or partners instead. The motion, which is expected to be voted on in the spring, needs a simple majority to be passed by the 31-member council. As of now, opinion on the council is divided.

And yet you supported Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders.

How do you rationalize that cognitive dissonance of yours?
