Caucuses V Secret Ballot?

For the life of me can not figure out why a Caucuses in Iowa carries so much interests. We vote in secret ballots for good reason. To keep from having others influence or bully our vote.

Something about having a room filled with loud excited voices seems intimidating. Less then a showing of the true feelings of the voters who do vote.

When was the last time Iowa picked the evidential GOP candidate BTW?

Probably Iowa has a mature culture.

I think they are stuck in the past. A caucus is just a big 'smoke-filled room.' The main concession to progress has been the smoke.

Iowa has quite effectively monetized the caucus and can not afford to lose all the attention. They must be first....

Look at the money the caucus brings into the state.

Without it they would have just what to replace it?

At least the Democrats are smart enough to have shit-canned the anachronistic caucus in Iowa. It truly is dumb, but it's steeped in tradition.
