Unhappy Say a prayer for the Phillipines tonight

A typhoon is making landfall in the Phillipines with almost 200mph winds tonight. http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifest...ba8_story.html

And say a special prayer for Robbin (icenine), his Filippina wife and her family.

I hope everything's alright with them, my friend!

Bye again!

One of my coworkers wife is Filipino. He says she's frantic, trying to get word on her peeps...

So far, nothing.

I've been thinking about Robbin and his wife. Heard anything, Robbin?

Thanks John I really appreciate it. My wife and my in-laws are fine they are on the main island of Luzon about 400 miles north of where Leyte and Cebu are.
I just hope the authorities can get things going so the crisis does not get worse. The main island was spared.

Thanks everyone.
Robbin

Nice to see you John

If you guys are able to donate a little to the cause do so. In the Philippines most struggle just to feed their families everyday. Something like this is devastating.

Thanks for the update Robbin. SecDef Hagel ordered the carrier group George Washington to make all speed to Tacloban from Hong Kong! Most folks don't realize that the U.S. Navy is tasked with an amazing amount of relief all over the planet, day to day, as part of their mission. The footage that I've seen is catastrophic just in Tacloban. The wind speeds suffered there are on the order of a sustained tornado of enormous size. Couple that with a storm surge of 20+ feet above sea level.

If you can afford it, send money to the International Red Cross or Doctors Without Borders. These groups already have boots on the ground.

The pictures are terrible to see, a prayer to St. Anthony might help.
