One thing I've learned recently. Anything and everything Cantor says is exactly 180 degrees away from the truth. He gives pompous, cynical @ssholes a bad name.

Yeah it is hard to imagine anyone more symbolic of idiotic Tea Party intransigence than Cantor. I mean has he even done anything for his own district....brought home a slice of bacon for the people who elected him?
I wonder....

Actually, no, Pete. However a good bit of the increase in the national debt since Obama has been in the White House is directly attributable to interest on previously incurred debt as in:

Reagan - $2 trillion increase in national debt
Bush I - $1 trillion increase in national debt
Bush II - $5 trilllion increase in national debt

And those numbers do not include the interest on what they ran up.

Not my numbers; U.S. Dept of Treasury.

Just sayin'.

Republicans don't run up debt, they just refuse to pay it down..............

Ummmm, er.......Looks like they do both.

The treasury puts debt at just over 11 tril in april 09, now its just under 16:

http://www.treasurydirect.gov/NP/BPD...application=np

So Obama has indeed topped Bush - in half the time

Pete

Any thoughts on how much of that is interest on the $11 trillion which was really my point to begin with?
