More College Antics From Ole Miss
http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-...327-story.html
"A former University of Mississippi student has been indicted on federal civil rights charges, accused of placing a noose and a Confederate symbol around the neck of a statue of James Meredith, the civil rights leader who desegregated the school, it was announced on Friday."
"Graeme Phillip Harris is accused of hanging the rope and an old Georgia flag that bears a Confederate symbol around the neck of the statue. Meredith was the first African American to break the color line in 1962 and enroll in what had been an all-white university."

Just an innocent frat boy prank.
Damn those entitlement types for making a big deal out of it by playing the race card.

I heard about the noose.
There were two others involved who haven't been named.
Guess what fraternity they belong to!

Sigma Phi Epsilon, not to be confused with Sigma Alpha Epsilon, the song singers.
The Sig Phi's are gone from Ole Miss, BTW.

Why? Or are you referring to their suspension by National?

The chapter voted to expel the three and then National suspended the chapter. I suspect they'll reinstate the chapter when the furor subsides. Same for SAE at OU.

Yup just suspended. They'll be back.
If someone was into dirty tricks, it might be fun to take out a demo permit on the chapter house while it's empty.

In his statement, Boren indicated that the chapter had been disbanded. That sounds more permanent than suspended.
It was interesting in the speech that Boren did address the possibility of redemption, even if he did not use the word. He spoke of some of the chapter members learning from the experience and being held accountable; but that he hoped to avoid them being branded with a label for the rest of their lives.
Regards,
D-Ray
