This town is infamous for folks going to the Daytona events.

Interesting that NY and LA police has approval ratings in the 70's.

Police approval ratings reflect that folks are mostly fine with 'tough' policing, as long as they think it's for other folks, not 'people like them.'

How could he possibly have shot himself?

Instead of smearing a dead man who cannot defend himself with the assumption that he was a lawbreaker with bad attitudes, why not do the decent thing? Why not agree that this stinks, on the face of it?

That is not Zeke's point.
This fatal incident would not have happened if the perpetrator did not get handcuffed in the back, then wrestled a gun from the officer and shot himself in the chest.

I'm cool with farce, we should all know that (by now). But farce starts from a baseline of truth.

The truth here is that you don't wind up cuffed in a cruiser with clean hands. Most officers would rather do anything than have to process an actual arrest...

Do you have an actual source for the 'wrestled a gun from an officer' part? I thought the claim was he had the gun secreted on his person (and they missed in the patdown that is said to have found drugs.)

Dirty hands, eh? Well, the hell with him then.

He's dead now? Who cares? He had dirty hands.

You have to admit...saying someone shot themselves after supposedly being searched and then cuffed (hands behind the back) and then put in the back seat of a patrol car seems far fetched.
