By sheer coincidence, I happened to watch this movie last night on Amazon Prime.

Interesting movie but I am a bit vague about the ending as to if the world ended.

Barney,
On point exactly. Once things get tough, chaos will ensue. I suspect cannibalism will flourish as well. I am not too worried about me, I am 50. What about my kido's who are 15? There is my concern.

I appreciate all the feedback guys. I think I am going to go take McPhersons report and try to destroy it(devils advocate if you will). My gut feeling is the same as expressed by many here, he is a bit extreme. I read some of his work and he is leading at the least. However, I did check a few of his sources and most of them are at least reasonably supportive to his claims. Not an all out sham.

If the freight system crashes for whatever reason? Days, not weeks - for sure.

Today, from my Facebook page.

Quote:
Rep. George Miller

It is alarming that last week House Republicans voted to undo a standard to ensure that all light bulbs sold in the U.S. are energy efficient. The standard would reduce carbon emissions, save American consumers $13 billion per year, and help create a brighter future by strengthening the green energy manufacturing sector. New challenges require new solutions. We must lead in combating climate change, not stand in the way. Why would anyone oppose them?

My eyes like incandescent light. For me it's a quality of my life issue. On average I probably replace fewer than three bulbs per year.

Just replaced the pesky CFL floods in the kitchen with some $10 LEDs from Costco. Nice warm light and if they last half the estimated time? I'll be way ahead of the game.

Hurricanes are not what scares me most about living in Florida.

It's these things.

A massive sinkhole opened up in a Florida front lawn over the weekend and is now threatening to consume several Tampa-area homes.

The gaping crater measuring 40 feet wide and 30 feet deep appeared in Spring Hill, located about 50 miles north of Tampa, and comes little more than a year after a similar sinkhole swallowed a Tampa man while he slept.

Yes, and there are so many of them cropping up in Florida along with your Burmese Pythons eating up the natural habitat.
