You get to hear Elvis's first recorded song. It is NOT 'That's Alright Moma,' not in any sense. But Sam Phillips tells the story that Elvis had been doing very boring, 'safe' material in his first studio session until Phillips told him the session 'wasn't working out.' THEN Elvis cut loose with 'That's Alright Moma' and stood everyone on their ear.
Great series. We've been enjoying it.

I watched the whole series and enjoyed it a lot, particularly the earlier episodes.

After seeing, in a thread here on Kellyanne, so many references to characters
in Tolkien's Ring series I revisited the DVD.

Started with "Fellowship Of the Ring". An atmosphere of foreboding...impending disaster pervades. Trumpian?

I recently finished "Oliver Stones untold history of the United States" on netflix.

It has a leftist bias but being a leftist myself, I like that.

I always knew the Russians played a big role in Germany's defeat, but I never realized how big. I also never realized the role they played in bringing about the surrender of Japan.

A couple of notes: There are twelve episodes, but, unless this has been corrected, the ones labeled 11 and 12 should be 1 and 2. And episodes 1-10 should be labeled 3-12. Also there are several segments that appear to have been repeated verbatim in more than one episode. It appears to me that this was ch done for emphasis but was rather due to sloppy editing.

Netflix: Israeli TV FAUDA (Arabic for Chaos) 12 episodes.

Israeli under cover unit searches for the wily Hamas hero known as the Panther.

I am surprised by the sympathetic undertones accorded the Hamas characters.

These slice of life type movies are my favorite kind. The ones where the shit that happens is just like the shit that happens to regular people in real life.

This is another one I enjoyed on netflix:
