I would think that mantra is tiresome for you.

We will soon have two grand sons graduate college. One will practice law...the other in the criminal justice system.
I shall sit between them at dinner and enjoy every minute of it.

When I prepare witnesses for testimony, I tell them that if they know the answer to a question, they need to tell the truth.

If they truly do not know the answer to a question, then answering that they do not know is the only honest answer.

If they truly do not remember when or if something occurred, the only honest answer is "I don't remember."

The pursuit of the truth is not advanced by them speculating because they don't want to admit to not knowing.

If they don't remember, however, the answer is never that they don't recall. Because of it's past use, that answer invites the impression of evasiveness.

I tell them more than that, but if I went into more detail, I would have to send out a bill.

Regards,

D-Ray

Lying to liars? Like stealing from a thief. Except congress can send the cops after you................
