It'll be interesting to hear dRay's take on this. IMHO, there's no question that Holder was lying (he's a lawyer and a politician and his lips were moving), but from what I understand, it probably doesn't meet the test of perjury. To wit:

"I'm not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks," Holder testified.

However, a newly discovered memo dated July 2010 shows Michael Walther, director of the National Drug Intelligence Center, told Holder that straw buyers in the Fast and Furious operation "are responsible for the purchase of 1,500 firearms that were then supplied to the Mexican drug trafficking cartels."

Other documents also indicate that Holder began receiving weekly briefings on the program from the National Drug Intelligence Center "beginning, at the latest, on July 5, 2010," Smith wrote.

He built in some wiggle room in his statement (and probably thought about those exact words for days). He's statement was not quite as unambiguous as Roger Clemens'.

Good point.. he did leave a lot of room to fanagle his way out. Wish I was as good at double speak as lawyers and politicians.

I've long since come to the conclusion that Congressional hearings are nothing but a kabuki dance.

You'd think that getting caught lying would result in improved truth-telling over the years. However, lying is like breathing for these types.
