Proud of my people!

As a veteran, there is something I would like to say.

TwoDogs touched on something in one of his recent posts that resonated with me. I would like to concur with the spirit of his post and ad this simple statement.

As much as I have lampooned and insulted the Tea Party I always secretly admired their willingness to make it to their rallys and exercise their first amendment rights. And now with these OWS protesters standing up and speaking out, even though they tend to be young, somewhat naive in some ways and therefore zany and a bit over the top at times, I am even more elated........

Because I see that Democracy is still alive and well. And judging from the looks of those crowds....Will be for a long, long time.

Dave

The OWS protesters are equally as inarticulate as the tea folks yes.

That said I am waiting for them to consider the second amendment option and start carrying guns at the protests.

That would be an interesting twist.

Yes that would be interesting because I doubt they have the self-control to not use them. I'd suspect that the OWS crowd is anti-gun.

I think the OWS group is wrong, but I do admire them for their spunk. Now if they start acting like the anti-WT group that hit Seattle a few years back, I'll withdraw even that lukewarm support. I do not see a nefarious pupose behind Wall Street like the OWS groups asserts. There are a lot of companies that had nothing to do with the plight of the American worker and the housing crisis. That is, Wall Street is diverse and not so easily pigion-holed as the OWS argues. I find their calls for an end to capitalism and their socialist tenets to be absurd and little different from similar groups that I've seen and even been a part of as a protester.

I dunno, I hardly meet people in middle TN that don't own a gun. And they are forming in Nashville too. For the most part gun owners act decent here ( exept the few thieves that always have been ), so it shouldn't be a problem.

They can't, legally. But they don't care about following laws in the first place or they wouldn't be felons. Thats another reason for us honest folk to sit on our fire power.
