He studied at Yale, Harvard and Stanford. He taught himself Marx later because no one taught it in the colleges because it was too scary for the powers that be.

Sadly VP others have thought that he did indeed espouse some sort of action and followed it, much to the dismay of millions upon millions dead.

He did espouse action. Some took up his cause. Communist Russia & China each killed as many people give or take as Hitler. Other 'Red' regimes throughout many areas of the world have been/are smaller scale but horrific for the inhabitants. As much as I feel for his message of rule of the common man I'm afraid his Utopia does not exist.

I'd say that if someone really wants to live under Marxism, they're more than welcome to move to North Korea. If they're lucky, they could play some pick-up hoops with Dennis Rodman.

I agree with Pete because I doubt that you will find a regime anywhere that is actually practicing Marxism. As the man said all pigs are equal but some are more equal than others (or words to that effect).

They misunderstood his meaning. Those are terrible examples. You can't go backwards. You have to work in smaller batches within the system. They used tyrannical approaches.

Marx has nothing to do with Utopia. Not one thing. There is no message, only questions.

Yet, every nation that attempted to implement his ideals turned into a homicidal economic basket case. I'll pass, thank you.

I suspect that what has really happened is his ideas were used by tyrants to delude the masses for the purposes of their own greed.

Now why does that sound familiar?
