Well she got home and "we" put the tree up, and of course fooled with the lights for what seemed like hours!
Never did get the garage finished.

O no, we have a tree on the front porch! But it stays up all year, it is a Christmas tree then a Valentines, Easter and so on. Right now it is in transition from a Thanksgiving/Fall to Christmas.
Hey I let her have her fun, she leaves me to my hobbies.

Everything in my front yard is buried under oak leaves. I have three of the original NINE giant oaks left on my puny city lot.
The Christmas tree is still in the closet. It is fully decorated, however. All I have to do is get it out and plug it in.

The only place I went was to the liquor store to refresh the provisions. I dislike crowds so much that I refuse to shop on weekends, Fridays, Mondays, and anytime government checks are out. Buying things is so much easier with the internet. In San Diego, the tents were up since Tuesday at Frys, Best Buy, and Walmart. I would think people do this more out of novelty than need IMHO. Some people just get a kick out of getting a deal.

If you retired and received benefits before 1997 the checks are usually sent on the third day of the month. If you retired and received benefits after 1997 the checks are sent on a schedule based on your birthday.
Social Security Benefits
For all Social Security beneficiaries receiving benefits prior to May 1997 3rd of the month
(unless earlier)**
For all Social Security beneficiaries receiving benefits after April 1997
Second Wednesday
If birth date on 1st - 10th
Third Wednesday
If birth date on 11th - 20th
Fourth Wednesday
If birth date on 21st - 31st
Thus, my local grocery store is packed with people usually on Tuesdays. I seem to recall that other entitlement checks are spread out more than they once were.
