You have it backwards. The increase in income/wealth disparity is killing growth. It has been ever since some schmuck of a president introduced his "trickle down" economic theory and his tightwad minions gleefully jumped in line.

We'll need to agree to disagree. The best way to sustain expanding employment is to have a growing economy. 1 - 2% just won't cut it.

Because the factors themselves are limited, whether resources, markets, or demand. For instance, an infinitely expanding population in any area isn't sustainable. On what else are you going to base an expanding market for economic growth?

Show me a workable sustainable model that allows an infinite number of folks to have as much resources as they want and more, practically forever.
Ain't happenin'.

Resources are limited and if shared equally by all everyone would be poor. Like most in the middle class and above I've no interest in being poor. It's why many have an I got mine so fuck you perspective.

Realistically, I have more than I need or is necessary for my welfare and contentment, in spite of my autistically related security issues. I suspect this is true for most folks not struggling to stay fed and indoors. Distribution of resources, to include opportunity, however tends to be unequal and more so when greed and politics are involved. Look at American history and follow the money from Jamestown to the present. More about aggregation of wealth and exploitation than universal welfare, Progressivism notwithstanding.

I remember some pundit claim that everyone could be a millionaire, and thinking, how much money would have to be printed, what would back it, and what would it actually be worth spread that broadly that thin.?
Wall Street sleight of hand can make someone wealthy on paper, but cashing it in for tangible substance before the house of cards Ponzi scenario that made it happen collapses and the illusion dissipates into nothingness is tricky at best, and everyone obviously doesn't benefit.
