I have been thinking about the ascendancy of the Trump administration, and trying to figure out what era of American history he is most closely replicating. I would say he comes closest to the late 1800s, where the greatest millionaire barons leveraged their money, company holdings, and personal relations with other moneyed millionaires to pillage as much as they could of the country's resources, capital, and labor forces as possible. What do you think?
