Look! The coronation of Hillary was suppose to be a walk in the park.

The only thing the last election had to teach us was to remind us all that almost anything can happen in a country almost half full of assholes.
Everybody in the country was exposed to the malignantly narcissistic, predatory sociopathic behavior of Donald Trump over the course of the primaries and general election, on top of his history over the preceding 40 years.
It's an asshole, no less an asshole than Trump, who voted for Trump. In fact worse. Trump is a sick fuck who has an extremely limited capacity to be any other way. His type are the most intractable that I ran in to in 20 years of mental health direct service.

So far he has not piled another entitlement on top of the ones we already will never be able to pay for.

Your American assholes percentage algorithm needs a minor, yet significant, modification to account for the almost half of the country that had the good sense not to vote for either candidate. There were also a significant percentage of GOPers who voted for The Donald because they are died in the wool Republicans hoping he'd take the job seriously. This is not to say that a significant percentage of them aren't asshole. Then there are the Democratic assholes to account for, although Trump's assholes are worse. With these adjustments approximately 1/4 of Americans are assholes.

Congress did that. Just like they legislated all the other bills that won't be paid for including national defense, NASA ...

Understandable considering that we are over burdened paying for Bush II's economic miracle.

The difference between you and me is that I think less of those who didn't vote than I do of those who voted for Trump. In particular, the miffed, self-indulgent, bernie-bots who sat in the local starbucks sucking up their half-sweet, inside-out, upside-down, up-your-ass caramel decaffinated macchiato while Trump was squeaking by in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

What we won't be able to pay for is his increases in military spending and his wall with the losses in revenue from his rich guy tax cut. But then again there won't be any benefits handed out to the 50,000 extra dead people we have every year from the lack of health insurance, so that'll help.
There's been a name for this shit for a long time...it's called "guns or butter" politics.
