Two Different Approaches
I like Martin O'Malley a lot. Wish he had been governor when I lived in Maryland (but at least he was Mayor of Baltimore then. )

It's certainly a contrast, isn't it? Brownback is a friggin' Neanderthal, though Maryland Democrats are a bit tax-friendly for my tastes.

That's what's so interesting about this. We have two different states trying diametrically opposed methods to deal with the fiscal crisis. This could be quite instructive. I'm rootin' for you guys, Finn!
Oh, and yeah, I'm really sorry Obama tapped Sibelius for HHS. She should still be running Kansas!

Maryland will be fine. It has a highly educated population and a steady source of income (the Federal government).

Yeah, I know they will. After 12 years out here in California I'm really missing my old stompin' grounds a lot more lately. If the weather here wasn't so damn perfect in Sonoma County* I'd probably head back.

*Luther Burbank settled here, in Santa Rosa, because he believed it possessed the best climate on the planet. Who am I to disagree?

Few people around here will boast about its climate, though it does have its good days scattered between the blizzards, Nor'easters, hurricanes and oppressive heat.

Spring and fall were pretty magical for me in Maryland, coming from a desert basically. Winter and summer? I just try not to remember them.

I see the article still has the old bugaboo about Maryland becoming less business friendly. Where else can business find such a well educated workforce? Martin is one hell of an improvement over Bobby Haircut.
