I believe they can legally scam us into thinking something is made here by, in the case of apparel, cutting the material here and then shipping it to Saipan or Mauritius to have it sewn up into finished goods.

Saipan is part of the US Marianas islands, and hence part of the US. I think they've tightened up that loophole in recent years (or moved it somewhere else).

LOL...
Nothing like listening to that POS tell someone else that they should be ashamed of themselves.

Probably after Tom DeLay's little sweat shop cum sex shop deal was exposed.

If there were really business savvy folks running the Olympic Committee, they would be charging Lauren a hefty fee for having the Olympians wear his logo on their uniforms. Look at what the NASCAR drivers get for a little patch on their coveralls. The athletes in the games are being seen by billions of people. That advertising is worth more than the cost of the attire - even if it had been made in shops under contract to the ILGWU.
At least it is not the evil swoosh.

I don't understand that the Olympic Committee is ostensibly anti-commercial, but then small insignias are acceptable, but crass commer************************m is not. Oh, that's right, it is a committee and rarely does something ideal emanates from such august bodies.

It could be worse - Avery Brundage could still be running it.

No, he looks like a boardroom baboon...........WTH?
Corporate attire is becoming the modern day Brownshirt.
You see one, you'd better run, 'cuz asshole has a list of demands designed to benefit no one but him......And you had better comply or you'll never work again!
That "uniform" is the dumbest shit on the planet.

The evil swoosh is doing the athletic wear. The dress uniform looks better with the white pants, but I still think it looks too much like a military uniform. I've looked at some past opening and closing ceremonies and the trend is towards more elaborate and formal uniforms. The ceremonies are becoming a battle of one-upmanship by the participating countries whcih seems contrary to the spirit of the Olympics.
