I don't know Rob.. I take most all the safety guards off most of my tools too... sure makes the job easier, but you better be paying attention too... I've worked with tools all my life, and worst I've done is caught my leg with a couple teeth when drop starting a chain saw with a 42" bar on it... I knew better, and it wised me up that much more.
Some people pay attention.. others don't.. guards are made for those that don't.
Hell, rented a large chipper shredder to some guy.. right there on the front with pictures of mangled fingers and large lettering it said DO NOT STICK YOUR HAND UP UNDER THIS GUARD.. and you had to stand on your head to do it too... and we get the chipper back from a guy with his hand in one huge white bandage.. then he tried to sue us for not telling him you can't do that..
Some people shouldn't even be allowed near anything that moves. or sharp objects.... or blunt objects... or paper for that matter..
