Yes, Glendale, California. That was before the war. After the war, he got a job at Douglas Aircraft and tried to get my Mom to move out there. She refused.
So, I ended up living in frigid and damp OHIO.

He always said he loved California. But, I guess he loved Mom even more.

Talked to my neighbor, who's a volunteer docent. There won't be any active military doing their usual flyby's. Another hit from the sequester. I wonder how many will be blaming Obama for that at this event?

Cool show but far too many idjit teasippers wandering the flightline for my druthers. Nice flight of five (of a total of seven) operational P38s left flying. Glacier Girl was there doing some great stunt flying.

Me and Patty got bamboozled out of five dollars in the parking lot. Some a-hole in the parking lot was collecting donations to help the 'Meals on Wheels' program. After I forked over a fin he handed me a American flag sticker and a "Terrorist Hunting Permit" sticker. I shoulda kicked him in the shin and snatched my money back. Probably one of LaPierre's idjits.

That sucks you got burned on the five spot. I don't usually give anything to strangers asking for money in parking lots unless they can make me think they're legit. If they ask for money and say it's because they're hungry, I offer to buy them food. If they shy away, I know it's bogus. I don't mind helping someone out, but I'm not funding any crack habits if I can avoid it.

Only seven flying at present. It certainly was a treat to see these five. I'll have to see what other pics are any good. I'm sure I have more than a few of just empty sky. Those planes move fast.
