The objective of that group was to challenge U.S. policies towards Cuba, including our embargo against Cuba and its impact upon the Cuban people. One needn't necessarily be a communist to think that our policies toward Cuba are stupid and perhaps counterproductive. Indeed the efforts of the Venceremos Brigade are coordinated today by the Pastors for Peace.

That said, having been a communist, communist sympathizer or just an anti-Cuban-embargo activist 50 years ago (as someone in their early 20's in the mid '70's) is far more benign than being a fascist or even a MAGAMoron today. Look at all the MAGA Republicans who went to hobnob with Putin in Moscow in recent years or who praise Viktor Orban today. They're far more dangerous than someone who was a disillusioned, idealistic California college kid 50 years ago.

Yep, my dad bleeds blue and always has but he could arm a couple squads with his collection. He is also a lifetime (and involved as an instructor) NRA member. Party affiliation has little to do with gun ownership.

Never fails surprise when someone assumes their side is the only owners of firearms.

When there is others who own and know how to use firearms. They just don't feel the need to intimidate with, show off or play in public. Have them for a tool not a plaything.

No shit. I taught NRA Hunter Safety, Rifle & Shotgun Shooting merit badge for the BSA, and am a range safety officer at my gun club and there are huge numbers of Americans who shouldn't own anything more lethal than a squirt gun and anyone going to peaceful demonstrations with an AR-15 in order to intimidate others ranks first among them.
