And all quite predictable given his community organizing background. Obama is more naive than nefarious IMHO; however, his associates both formerly and within the administration are certain of their poltical goals and will use any means to achieve them.

Care to be more specific about these goals, and what means have been used to achieve them?

That assertion can always be made and is just about impossible to disprove, but OTOH, it might also be the case that they disagree with his policies. Surely we've seen other presidents that were fervently hated and disliked by significant proportions of the populace. There's that correlation and causality problem rearing its head.

As I've mentioned, I believe that people disagree with Obama for non discriminatory reasons. OTOH, the manner in which some of the opposition - even to the point of questioning his legitimacy to hold office, as it relates to his African heritage - demonstrates that race is a factor in the way he is perceived.

My rhetorical question was in response to TD's post. If racism is indeed worse than it was 4 years ago (his assertion, not mine), where exactly is it worse? In that the historical focal point of racism has been among rural whites in the South (i.e., the current GOP base), am I really out of line in saying that if indeed racism has gotten worse, isn't it possible that this increase is happening where it historically has always been? I doubt it's in Portland or Boulder.

Rex, it appears that we have succeeded in drawing you fully over to the dark side.
