No different here. This place is in the next county over and is the poorest community in the nation on paper where the welfare flows like honey. They somehow have a federally funded religious school district. Votes count and when you have a large enough bloc you get your way. Neighboring town politicians have referred to them as a parasidic community.

Yeah! I know about the block vote.
It is easy to shake down the system with the offer of block votes especially in
low turn out elections.
I can guarantee you this amount of vote...this is what you have to do for me.
A local District Attorney in Brooklyn, Charles Hynes was so afraid of the Rabbis with their block votes that he gave a blind eye to sexual cases against them.
Younger more progressive Jews finally organized and threw him out.
