There are people trying very hard to get popular violence going to gain power. There are people trying hard to stop them. It's prudent to think we're in for some trouble. Probably won't get super bad, but it might.

Without polling that indicates the percentage that would employ violence to keep Trump out of power the article should be listed under election propaganda.

There is also current sentiment on the left for violence, and it is reported in this piece. Did you see where over 12% favored violence to restore abortion rights? It's true the article focuses more on the right, but the right is much more of an mobilized threat.

You react as if the report said that the right is nasty bad violent people and the left are angels. It doesn't. The point is that sentiment supporting violence is one factor in it breaking out, and the right has shown desire and ability to use it.

He's attacking the research when he doesn't have the research, he just has the Guardian's reporting on it. And he is ignoring the wider or more left-focused aspects that were reported. Basicly, it seems to bother him to hear that if everything comes together, the right will do political violence. So he insists same is true of left. Which it is, but it's a lot closer to coming together for the right. What you need is a crowd of such sentiment, and, critically, leaders willing to whip them up and point them at a real-time target. We saw all that on Jan 6.
