Has America accepted soccer?
From big hoopla and celebration after US defeated Ghana in the World Cup it
appears that soccer is finally becoming part of the American scene.

You mean that we won't be seeing those religious ceremonies where all the lay brothers gather in mid field and after the high priest finishes his chant the central lay brother hands him the sacred egg?

What soccer has going for it is that more average kids can participate - no need to be big or tall - and no need for special and or expensive equipment.

My sons and several friends are big soccer fans and I've been watching a fair amount over the past 8-9 years. I'm getting to like it better than our football, with all its standing around & time-outs, silly penalties and Bud Lite commercials.

You sound like my father. He hated the stop & go of American football and made sure to let me know about it every time I had a game on.
