Cool, since my eight bucks a month subscription is a sunk cost, that means I can watch it essentially for free!

I watched the first episode.

The acting is OK and the scenery is gorgeous but damn the story line sucks.

I can't believe the decedents of Ragnar Lodbrok would take shit from the Russians like that.

I also do not think so.

A family member says Norway is beautiful and super clean.
I noticed from the film a distinct modern touch as to architecture.

Good guess but no, not "Starman." Did a little digging and found the one i had in mind. Title is "Powder." I'm wrong, main guy was a mutant, not an alien. Big diff.

Wikipedia quotes a NT Times reviewer who has it right I think: "..."lethally dull ... this intensely self-important film has no idea how absurd and unconvincing it is."

Netflix is indeed a good value. A couple of good movies I stumbled upon recently:

"The Best offer"

"Leon, the Professional"

Agree, both of those are good.

I also enjoyed the "Longmire" series.

One I got past dealing with the fact that the actor who plays the main character bears a resemblance to George W. Bush in the face.

Watched "Sharknado" on netflix last night.

It's bad.

It's real bad.

But I couldn't stop watching it.
