Obama wins again
http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE62T06520100330
Now please excuse me while I fall dead of a heart attack. And before I finally expire, I will admit that he's not as dumb as I thought he was.
But I still smell a rat.

And there are those that believe Obama an ideologue and socialist?
Bullshit.
He's a pragmatist.

He's beginning to behave as one...or at least a politician.
If he pans out, I'll give him his due. For all I know, he may be right. But I do know one thing, I wouldn't take his job on a bet.

It might have been the Onion, but I remember someone, after the '08 elections, publishing a headline "AMERICA GIVES WORST JOB IN THE WORLD TO A BLACK MAN."

Yeah, but can he run a Burger King?
It's a cheap shot.... pay no attention to the racist behind the curtain.
To be serious, before the election I said that whatever he did would not be that much different that what was already happening. He's moved somewhat to the left, but the president is constrained by current events, and there is only do so much he can do.
Anyone who thinks the boss runs things is FOS. All the boss does it try to make everyone happy. And the further up the ladder your go, the more people you have to make happy.

Kinda like owning a business isn't it. Instead of having one boss, you have dozens.

I've heard that somewhere.
After delivering much less that what the left wanted in a health care bill, Obama is really setting himself up for a big hit from the left flank. Once again though, he stressed in his campaign that energy independence was not only an economic concern, it is also a security concern. This comminist furriner lefty wuss seems to be making some tough decisions - like upping the forces in Afghanistan and going after real terrorists; and determining that energy independence is more important than following the party line on off-shore drilling. He is looking stronger on terrorism as his presidency goes on.

D-Ray

To get back on topic,
I thoroughly enjoyed the idiotic GOP response; "Don't be fooled. It just a smoke screen."
They've been trying to get the Dems to sign on to offshore drilling for years. And now that we have a Democratic President willing to help them get what they've been after all of this time.................It's a trick, and they're against it. Does anyone else here see what a-holes these people are? Honestly.
Regards,
Dave

Ah, come on Chas. He's just speaking his mind. Probably doesn't bother me as much as you since I tend to agree with him, but certainly he's not picking fights like, um, some people.
And really, I like hearing what you have to say. Don't hold back. If we all try our best not to make it personal or "cross the line" (whatever that means) it's a lot more interesting to just hear what people think.
My opinion of you is pretty well set and a lot more positive than you would have thougth at one time. You're not likely to say something that's going to sway my thoughts about you, but you have made some cases that have influenced my view of political issues. Don't start holding back now!
