Coming soon to a state near you....

If you see the Ohio gov'ts response to the looming and predicted crisis, you'll understand why we're sliding. May your state be smarter.

Missouri has the Hancock Amendment, which specifies a balanced budget.

While still facing budget shortfalls, the Democratic Governor and the Republican Congress are doing a commendable job of living with our means.

Missourians may not live as high on the hog as other states, but we're in better financial shape than most.

Pay as you go, it's the best policy.

Nope we just sold our capitol and other legislative buildings to keep going for another year. This coming year we hope to sell our legislators themselves.

Amazing.

Did your local crooks sign a long term lease before they sold them to their dummy corporations?

Yep. And after a pre-determined time and money outlay we will get the opportunitey to buy back our own buildings. For a suitable mark up and the public good of course.

Well despite the recession and the legacy of the previous administration Maryland still has a AAA rating.

Wow.

But aren't your legislators already bought and paid for?

Nah,
We leased.

Seriously though I wonder what the next generation is going to say when they get hit with the bill to buy those buildings back. Maybe they can just cancel the leases and move Govt into a mini storage where they belong.
