Question remains that if the electoral college vote is ties, does the house have to select between Trump and Hillary? I cannot find a definite answer for this.

It's unlikely that any other candidate will get any electoral votes, so the choice would be between the two. But it does open a theoretical win possibility for a third party candidate who was popular enough to actually take enough states to deny either of the major party candidates a majority. Then if neither, likewise, could get a majority in the House of Representatives, the House might settle on the third party candidate, as a compromise....

Just an odd way things could possibly work out.

Where the Hell do you get that notion?

Trump is not the one that is under investigation by the FBI.

That would be Hillary.

For the record, if she is elected, I would not be in favor of impeachment for her.

That wold stick us with Kane who I don't like any more than I do her.

The Constitution just says the President can be impeached for "High crimes and misdemeanors." These terms are not defined, so there's no way to say they mean anything but whatever the House says they mean. If a majority of the House says 'combing your hair like THAT' is a high crime, then it goes to the Senate, and if 2/3 of them agree, he's out. The only defense against trivial charges like my example is getting Congress members or Senators to vote the charges down. There's no review by the Supreme Court, so if you're convicted but you don't think it was a high crime, tough.

I know.

"High Crimes and misdemeanors" is about as bullshit a phrase as "well regulated militia".

Taken literally the President could be impeached for spitting on the sidewalk.

Intentional misappropriation, no reason other than a bit of levity.
Anything is possible, but the electors were supposed to be a shield against demagoguery and mob rule, unless they themselves are taken in by it.

If he does get elected, we won't have to wait long for him to commit an impeachable offense. Considering his history.... He won't be able to keep himself from doing something that stupid.
