Heard about this today on Fresh Air.

The big difference between the powerful far-Reich nazi sympathizers then and now is that voters back then trusted the media, and voted these peckerheads out of office, to a man.

Today, we have millions of Whells, their heads filled with garbage by Reich-wingnut media, who see the legitimate media as "the enemy". Whell and his idiot comrades will keep these evildoers in office, voting for them again and again, as they are convinced these nazis are not evil.

My dad was with a tank outfit too. Did what it took, which was a hell of a lot. Best time to stop NAZIs is right now.

We're lucky they made it back, Don. The 10th suffered a 74% casualty rate by the end of it all. They were the first armored unit shipped straight to France. Two weeks later they were part of the 'Reduction of Metz', a stronghold that hadn't been taken since to Roman legions built it 1500 years ago. Dad was the most popular guy at division HQ, he was a mailman.

Oh, mail was the social media of the time, and absolutely vital. My dad and my mom actually met by mail! My dad fixed tank radios and wiring. Wasn't tank crew, but he saw plenty of what happened inside those things.... The guys who lived wound up bonded as tight as anything. His battalion had reunions right up until they were about all gone.
