Except Supreme Court Justices are not supposed to engage in or be receptive to lobbying.

The whole system is one gigantic farce. The judges are preselected and nurtured by political parties based on their history of sympathetic rulings.
There is an implicit understanding of a quid pro quo. That is once a judge gets a supreme chair such judge is not expected to stray too far from the line of the party which so vigorously supported him or she.

With loyalty guaranteed with continued emoluments that can be taken away for cause, if a justice is corrupt enough to let that happen. Yep, it's a system all right. But it wasn't always thus. Anyone remember Earl Warren? Basically, if you have dirt in the White House, he'll appoint dirt to the Supreme Court. That is the source of the trouble.

Then you know what the fix is. Shitcan the Constitution, which was one gigantic farce for the benefit of elite Englishmen when it was written.
