The Nuge Gets A Noogie!
Discovery Networks has said that Nugent will not be a part of any Discovery Networks programming in the future. This comes on the heels of their announcement that they've canceled their "American Guns" reality show.

It appears that we are reaching an inflection point on the promotion of gun ownership speech. It is interesting to see it happen.
TV did a great job of teaching that the responsibility of gun ownership is the same as keeping shelves stocked with canned food. That's obviously messed up and I am glad to see the programming go by the wayside.
Ted will learn his lesson but in the meantime he will do some kicking and screaming. I forgive him.

As an avid bowhunter, sometimes I want to give that clown a pass. If he stuck to bowhunting and not glorifying semi-automatic and automatic firearms with all his pseudo-patriotic drivel, I'd be OK with him. I will say, however, he remains the only musical act I've ever walked out on. Thankfully, the tickets were free and he still wasn't worth the price of admission.

His shows are very entertaining. 'Where have we seen this before? Heeheehimhimhim'
I see that a large percentage of the US population will now be... censored? looked down upon? What's the right word?

Does the good pastor Huckabee tour with him as he struts around screaming "Obama is a piece of shit!" and "Suck this, Hillary!" as he places his guitar between his legs? (I'm guessing The Nuge skipped the "Christian Values" part of his Republican indoctrination.)
I have NO respect for Nugent, he's nothing but a typical rightwing ass and collosal hypocrite and the world would be a far better place without him in it. I'm glad to see the Discovery Channel has finally seen the light in this regard. I don't know what YOU'RE waiting for.

Apparently, his ratings sucked.

How is this censorship, piece-itpete? Discovery Networks isn't the government. Nugent can still exercise his rights under the 1st Amendment. All that has changed is that Discovery Networks won't be paying him to do it.

Exactly. It's not censorship. It's simply acting like an adult.
For some reason in the US we tend to think that we have a duty to behave as badly as the laws allow. It's fucking wierd.

He probably has done it with his guitar but the most infamous example was telling Hillary to "ride" and Obama to "suck on" the pair of Bushmasters he was waving around.
Nice, eh?

I was talking about 'American Guns'.
The history of industrialisation is the history of the gun, the great equalizer.
I only saw Ted on dvds before. His politics aside, he seems to be a very good hunter.
