What an honor!!! We need more great Americans like that! I'll bet he even tolerates Ohio Republicans.

You know, it occurs to me that the very fact that these ethics investigations are happening is an indication of Speaker Pelosi's seriousness about fulfilling her pledge.

Do you want me to list all the Republican crooks that the Republicans protected? All the Abramoff cronies? David Vitter? Ted Stevens?

You know?

John

If they're guilty they're guilty. I just wish the corporate media would give a little more attention to the GOP senator, John Ensign, who is undergoing an ethics investigation, as well as a grand jury investigation, for soliciting lobbying jobs for two married former staff members, after he ended a nine month affair with the wife.

BTW way, John, that is right, the Democrats were in charge of the house when the ethics committee investigated violations by two Democrats. Can you imagine the stink that would be made if the Democratic house had issued charges only against two Republicans.

And don't forget that new leading spokesman for the GOP, Newt Gingrich, who resigned as speaker and ultimately as a congressman while he was being investigated for ethics violations. Seems he had a little trouble keeping his pants up too.

Regards,

D-Ray

I don't know whether you fellows have read about the recent story about Newt in Esquire. Not a particularly flattering picture of the philandering narcissist.

Btw, touchy, touchy. So.....

Q. How many Democrats does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A. Just one, but it really gets screwed.

The old man was critically ill. Feeling that death was near, he called his lawyer. "I want to become a Democrat. Get me a change of registration form." "You can do it", the lawyer said, "But why? You'll be dead soon, why do you want to become a Democrat?" "That's my business! Get me the form!"

Four days later, the old man got his registration changed. His lawyer was at his bedside making sure his bill would be paid. Suddenly the old man was racked with fits of coughing, and it was clear that this would be the end. Still curious, the lawyer leaned over and said, "Please, before it's too late, tell me why you wanted to become a Democrat so badly before you died?" In a faint whisper, as he breathed his last, the old man said: "One less Democrat".

Or Ensign?

But that's contrary to the democratic (small d) process. The accused have the right to a hearing at which they can defend themselves, and the voters in the accused's district have the right to vote whether he should remain their representative.

D-Ray
