Do ya'll use Facebook?

Just wondering what others think of this voice only video that claims it's going to stop FB on Nov. 5 for what They Say is good reason. Near the end, the voice says ''we are a legion''. Pretty serious claim. eh?

Do I use Facebook?

No.

But if that's what people want to do, it's fine by me.

I'm civil on FB. I don't even cuss there, but hardly use it. Never had a problem myself, but keep my family/friends list limited to short rather than adding anyone and everyone to my list to compete for the highest number ( whether they know each other or not ) like some do. By keeping mine limited, maybe I've missed something.

Facebook is convenient and it is free. All it wants is your soul.

The Facebook/Twitter generation has a far different attitude about privacy than us old farts.

D, we don't have a single thing newer than 11 years old, but kept getting calls from people all over the country trying to get us to take out a warrenty policy on our cars and trucks. I finally got so fed up with daily calls from different states and started cussing them. I told them I didn't own a car, and you know what? The asshole replied, '' why sure you do, you have a 1975 chevy, you have a 1979 chevy, you have a 1994 chevy, you have a 2000 mercury,... the state of TN sold us this info ''. Talk about mad. I went to the courthouse and thought I'd go to jail before I finished saying my piece. Oh sir,.. it wasnt anything we did, we have no control over the state.. you barkin' up the wrong tree. Yeah, I know, but just incase you are taking tally's to send in to the state.. you can add me to the list of agravated people.

Honestly, what IS private anymore?

Yeah. But, all that finding former classmates has done is remind me that my generation sucks. Bunch of Gordon Gekko worshipping drones. If I could hook up with a FaceBook for the dead, that would be awesome.....Cuz, then I could talk to my Dad and his generation. Far smarter people than we will ever be.

Not in a state that sucks up to the corporate Gods, no*. Your privacy and your labor are up for sale. And you have NO say in the price, nor will you reap any of the rewards.

(*And, that would be nearly all of them, these days.)

Now there's a valid business concept.. A little Artificial Intelligience and we could be typing into a time capsule with the answers for all our future prodgeny.. I'll get busy on the tech details -- you get busy with the prodgeny part..

Instead of talking to you'se guys -- we could be writing scripts for conversations with future generations.. Hmmmmmm .... Genius... who wouldn't want to ask Bill Clinton questions about dating?

Nothing.

One of the more frightening things I've noticed is if you have someone's street address, you can Google it and not only get directions to someone's house, put a view of it.

Now if you have a private lane, and maybe a sign which reads, "No Trespassing, survivors will be shot twice" Google won't show your street view.

Only the aerial view.
