The only problem I ever had with the churches (all of them) they kept telling me I was guilty, but never of what. Then they told me God was a loving father. What sort of father lays a guillt trip on his children. They never tried to resolve that dichotomy so I left. I figure they had the last part right, where they dug up the guilt bit I am damned if I know.

He has been there many times in my life when I needed him, so why do I need a bunch of people getting in between me and Him?

A man once told me;

"Dave, when I accepted Jesus into my life he cleansed me of all of my sins. The drugs, the booze, the prostitutes, the gambling.....man, I was into everything and stealin' to pay for it. But Jesus saved me and he can save you too."

My reply?

"Save me from what, then? I've never had a problem involving any of those things. My saviour was common sense."

He didn't care for that much.
