Just for the record, I'm of the latter opinion.
'Putin hacked the election' is easy and convenient.
It provides cover for the Clinton's team woeful performance. The team had no insight into effect of the distribution of Trump's supporters.

It is juice for the MIC, cold warriors and the powerful friends of exiled Russian oligarchs.

There has never been an official finding that "Putin hacked the election." This is a meme whereby Trumpsters insist that since Putin didn't get inside of voting machines, he did nothing to influence and/or disrupt the election (with the possible assistance of the Trump campaign). It's basically a typical Trump misdirection technique that seems to have worked on you.

Not Putin personally, but I figure he provided impetus to the effort, in a CEO sort of way.

Hi Max! (I know Max from elsewhere.) Can't say we're great buddies in general, but I agree with another person who recently observed "His heart's in the right place." Make him welcome, show him where the fridge is, find him somewhere to crash....

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Millions of Americans would gladly work for Robert Mueller for free if that would help speed things up, a new poll finds.

According to the survey, a substantial number of Americans would leave their jobs, their homes, and even their families to join the special counsel’s team if doing so would help bring this nightmare to a swifter conclusion.

A spokesperson for the special counsel confirmed that his office has been receiving thousands of résumés a day from Americans begging to do anything to help Mueller “move things along.”

“We saw a big surge in interest after the bust on Paul Manafort’s house,” the spokesperson said. “A lot of folks were devastated that they didn’t get to play a part in that.”

The spokesperson said that, although the special counsel “really appreciates” the public’s interest in helping out, limitations on office space prevent Mueller from accommodating all of those who desperately want to pitch in.

“We hate to disappoint people, but we’re overwhelmed,” the spokesperson said. “Right now, I have about five thousand résumés from people who just want to help investigate Jared.”

It seems that the guy who developed the malware used by Russia is cooperating with the FBI.

And this, 'blood and flesh', this 'rare' witness came to FBI through Ukrainian police/official control.

OTOH, The Nation article you linked to the other day is under editorial review and will likely soon be revoked for being false.

That the Nation is under extreme pressure is understandable; it is a progressive organ and is expected to toe the line.

Bershidsky said nearly as much in the article to which I linked.

The Nation's editor, Katrina vanden Heuvel, is married to the biggest Putin apologist in the West, Stephen F. Cohen. He adores Putin even more than you or Trump.
