Rescued this Vox Box at the Goodwill yesterday--someone had stolen the envelopes, but this disks were still in fine shape, fortunately..... Am listening to now, and there's very nice stuff here, all new to me. No less than NINE of the 'other' Bachs have works on these three disks.

Vox was, of course, a budget label and a lot of their recordings were fairly sub-standard. That being said, Vox often used the services of the famous recording engineer Rudy van Gelder, most well known for his work for Prestige. Many of those van Gelder Vox recordings are quite good. Look for "RVG" in the dead wax.

Well, this one bears the initials "SF" and the imprint of Bell Sound. (See pic 1). Sounds good to me....

Got another Vox Box, organ music again: (pic 2)

On this one, four of the six sides say RVG! (pic 3)

The other two have the imprint "Pete Hoofrich," or something like that--it's a little hard to make out, very small script....

Do you think P.D.Q. and Spike Jones may be related in some way?
