Just as an aside, from what I've read, what Henry Aaron had to take from the public as he closed in on Ruth's all-time home run record was just as bad, and in some cases possibly worse than what Jackie Robinson endured. Although less so from other players.

That's true.

In fact I think today's racists are every bit as nasty as they were in the past. The only difference is that there aren't as many of them and they can't get away with the shit like they used to. When you read some of the comments these Alpha-Hotels make on the internet you know that they would lynch a black or brown person in a heartbeat if they thought they could get away with it.
