Mistrial in Cosby Case

I was looking forward to a legal decision one way or the other.

I never pay any attention to such trials or the media-chosen kidnapping, child-abuse or murder case of the moment. I'm not sure why, but it seems like they choose one of thousands of similar cases in the country every year and beat it to death, 24/7, and try to make me care about it. I just don't.

OJ Simpson effect? I too am not following this case nor want to.

Perhaps the fact that I am a woman the case has more importance to me.

Too many times sexual assault goes unreported for a variety of reasons and those involving celebrities, even more so.

My hope is that more victimized women will feel empowered to speak up when it happens to them and that law enforcement takes those reports more seriously.

I remember my first sexual assault.... I was about fourteen or fifteen years old and the perpetrator was an adult. I was told by law enforcement that "boys will be boys".

I dunno if the problem was similar to the O. J. trial with being overcharged to meet guilty as charged, or what.

I did not mean to brush this incident off, just that when one has the kind of money Cosby, he can buy the best lawyers money can buy.

As for women getting victimized, I am totally with you on this.
